Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Arrives In 2021
The Olympic Games Are Here
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, originally planned to release with the 2020 Olympic Games, is a fun mix of sports party games. There are 18 different games to play, all of which are easy to grasp. The game includes single or multiplayer, and the more friends you have to compete against, the merrier. Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is available for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia and PC.
Being A Pro Athlete Is Pretty Easy
The abundance of sports you can play in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 has its advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, you’ll likely not get bored quickly by the variety of different game types. After a match of beach volleyball in your spacesuit, you can hop into a Judo fight with a leather jacket and jeans. On the other hand no game can remotely compare to the complexity of a game that is solely dedicated to one sport. This is because there are so many games to play. The basketball and soccer games are fun and easy to pick up.
You can’t really become engaged or invested in playing it for hours like you would an NBA or FIFA title though. This was never really the goal for this game, so to fault it for not achieving ambitions that it never originally set up is unfair. Nevertheless, you’ll still likely be missing the option to do more if you’ve played other sports titles. The list of options to choose from includes the 4 X 100 relay, basketball, baseball, 110M hurdles, sport climbing, hammer throw, long jump, 200M individual medley, boxing, judo, table tennis, football (soccer), tennis, 100M freestyle, beach volleyball, rugby, 100M dash and BMX.
Not Meant to be Realistic
Continuous play in the game will rack up your experience points. These can unlock different outfits and accessories, almost all of which are not normal sporting attire. You can also humorously customize your character’s physique. Selecting muscular, thin or heavy set body types can make your athletes appear to be just your run-of-the-mill average Joe’s playing the highest levels of competitive sports.
The obvious lower budget graphics, easy to learn controls and athlete customization is inviting to new gamers and families. You don’t need to know how any of the sports work in real life to easily pick up the gameplay. Each game has limited HUD and UI options and in-game tutorials. They can also be easily recalled after an initial playthrough. It’s $40 price tag, which is two-thirds of a regular release title, is definitely a plus. For what it delivers, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is a party game most are sure to enjoy.
