Top 4 – Playoff Participants
T1 has matched its best record since its foundation by winning fourteen games in a row. The famous South Korean organisation is sitting at the top of the league without a single loss but most importantly, with dominance. There were many self-assured teams, believing in their rosters this year but none of them managed to upset T1 in any way. With Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok in command, the team looks undefeatable.
Secondly, Gen.G has also shown supremacy, winning twelve games and losing only three throughout the split. The organisation acquired Han “Peanut” Wang-ho and Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon to join their current star, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk. The roster looks scary on paper and they managed to please their fans by securing the second spot after the LCK 2022 Spring Week 8. we may see Gen.G pulling out a miracle to upset T1 for the first time if they meet in playoffs in the upcoming weeks.
We have DRX sitting at the third spot, right behind Gen.G. DRX had a more competitive roster than last year as the team signed Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu and Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee to strengthen its bottom lane. DRX secured ten wins to qualify for playoffs.
Lastly, the previous champion, DWG KIA, has also guaranteed a playoff spot before the end of the regular season. Despite their descending performance, we may see them improve during playoffs and become a more serious contender that could take T1’s crown.
Remaining Playoff Spots
Fredit BRION and Kwangdong Freecs are the closest teams to clinch the last playoff spots. Both teams are at six wins and eight losses and their closest competitors, KT Rolster and Liiv SANDBOX are sitting at four wins and ten losses. On 1o March 2022, Fredit BRION’s test against Liiv SANDBOX will decide LSB’s future. Moreover, FRB will have its last game against T1, the only undefeated team this year. Kwangdong Freecs’ schedule looks even harder as the team will face T1 and DRX, respectively. Lastly, KT Rolster will come up against Hanwha Life Esports and Liiv SANDBOX, which looks a lot easier. Get ready for a surprise in the last days of LCK 2022 Spring Week 8.
The last week of the regular season will come to an end on March 13. Until then, the esports competition will continue.
