The Sandbox partners with HSBC, token price soars to almost 10% overnight
The Sandbox, a gaming platform launched on the Ethereum enabling players to sell and trade NFTs as well as cryptocurrencies are getting more popular with big brands making their entrance to the metaverse.
After a recent partnership with a global bank HSBC, The Sandbox’s native token SAND soared up to almost 10% or trade value at $2.97 shortly after the announcement.
The Sandbox’s price is expected to continue exploding due to another partnership with American socialite now crypto fan Paris Hilton has joined the hype-wagon of the metaverse.
With corporations and celebrities are now expressing their interest in the metaverse, the prospects for the 3D virtual worlds with a focus on social connection are getting better than ever.
Partnership with HSBC
The Sandbox’s price exploded overnight to almost 10% after announcing a partnership with the second-largest bank in Europe that is HSBC. The London-based multinational investment bank is notably one of the first of its kind to partner with The Sandbox and to step into the metaverse.
More about HSBC, the bank has confirmed the partnership is set to include a purchase of a digital plot of LAND in The Sandbox alongside the game’s version of digital real estate.
In addition, HSBC is joining the likes of other big names from Warner Music, Ubisoft, Gucci and many others in creating their own virtual world in The Sandbox. HSBC explained the decision is to provide a more innovative brand experience for both new as well as existing customers.

“Through our partnership with The Sandbox, we are making our foray into the metaverse, allowing us to create innovative brand experiences for new and existing customers,” HSBC Asia-Pacific branch chief marketing officer Suresh Balaji said.
“We’re excited to be working with our sports partners, brand ambassadors, and Animoca Brands to co-create experiences that are educational, inclusive, and accessible.”
HSBC is keen to introduce the bank’s customers to purchasing virtual in-game plots or LAND and even more than that. Reportedly, the bank will provide gaming-related activities alongside different esports.
However, while SAND has soared up to almost 10%, it remains way below than 65% compared to the token’s high price in November last year.
The Sandbox, Paris Hilton

Hilton in a press release said she is a huge believer in the metaverse and thinks that the movement she found herself within makes her proud.
“I am a huge believer in the metaverse and the way web3 technologies are empowering creators, gamers, and artists,” the socialite said.
“It’s such an important movement and community that I’m proud to be a part of. I can’t wait for people to see what amazing experiences The Sandbox and I bring together to the metaverse.”
With more corporations and celebrities are making their way into cryptocurrencies as well as the metaverse, the popularity of gaming platforms from the likes of The Sandbox and Decentraland is inevitable.
