FaZe Clan wins IEM Katowice 2022

The North American esports organisation, FaZe Clan, has won the IEM Katowice 2022 trophy by sweeping G2 Esports in the Grand Final.

In the colossal of the giants, North America’s FaZe Clan was the better side. Before coming to the finals stage, FaZe Clan eliminated Gambit Esports and Heroic in the playoffs. They put on a show throughout the tournament and had all the fans witness an entertaining esports show!

Inferno

The series started with a head-to-head competition between these two giants. G2 Esports made a confident start to the map with a three-round win streak. They used the CT side’s advantage well and ended the first half with 11-4 ahead. However, FaZe Clan’s second-half performance was even better. Despite all the efforts, FaZe Clan closed out the first game of the IEM Katowice 2022 with a score of 19-15. Many players played their hearts out on both sides but Robin “ropz” Kool had a 32-kill performance to guaranteed the win for his team. FaZe’s confidence and stability gifted them the victory. They got the lead in the series.

Mirage

The second map went on and on as both sides were there to lift the trophy in the end. FaZe Clan had confidence from the first game of the series but G2 Esports’ players were also there to fight until the very end. Nemanja “huNter-” had a marvelous 57-kill performance with a +13 K/D Diff but FaZe Clan once again topped their opponent. The North American organisation won the game with a score of 31-27, making the series an unforgettable final for sure. The competition during the match never decreased and there were many moments that surprised the fans. In the end, teamwork and chemistry were the names of the game and FaZe got really close to the trophy after their second win.

Dust2

Just like the previous maps, we saw another incredibly competitive match. FaZe Clan wanted to end the series to lift the IEM Katowice 2022 trophy but G2 Esports’ players tried their best to complete a reverse sweep. After another close map, FaZe Clan managed to end the series in style and won the prize. G2’s huNter- had another insane performance but again, it wasn’t enough for them to win the map. This time, Helvijs “broky” Saukants and Justin “jks” Savage were there to help ropz statistically. The trio secured 50 kills combined and FaZe won the closing map with a score of 16-14.

If you ever make a top esports tournamentsΒ list, IEM Katowice would be on there for sure and luckily, all the fans have watched a great final between FaZe Clan and G2 Esports. Both teams played their hearts out from the start to the end. However, it was a sweep in the end, in favor of FaZe. We can’t wait to see this roster perform in the upcoming Majors against the best teams again. With Karrigan’s lead, we may see more from them this year.
