The LCS is one of the biggest League of Legends tournaments in the world. It’s an exclusive, franchised event that boasts a $200,000 prize pool and it runs for more than two months. For this tournament, ten of North America’s most iconic organisations step up to the plate, eager to win their share of the prize. We’re here to look at the next stage in this tournament and debate the best LCS predictions.

From the 5th of February to the 24th of April the LCS Spring 2022 series will run. It’s the tenth North American LCS season, and the competition is hotter than ever before.

Following The Lock-In, The Action

Between the 14th and the 30th of January, all ten LCS teams compete in the LCS Lock-In event. This is essentially a short-form, pre-season event, spread out between a Group Stage and a Playoffs stage. There’s $150,000 on the line, all of which will be awarded to the team that snatches the number one spot in the competition.

When it comes to LCS predictions, it’s remarkably tough to pick a straight, outright winner for the LCS Lock-In. There are some strong contenders, with the likes of 100 Thieves, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, and Cloud9 all exhibiting clean and powerful performances. As we move into the main LCS Spring 2022 tournament, these teams will be the frontrunners for the final victory.

At the LCS Summer 2021 event, it was 100 Thieves that secured the grand prize, effortlessly beating down Team Liquid in the final round. Throughout the entire tournament, 100 Thieves remained dominant, but there may be signs of slippage for the LCS Spring 2022 event.

However, if we want to work with the best LCS predictions possible, we’ll say that there’s still a good sense in backing 100 Thieves to win. As an organisation, 100 Thieves has enjoyed considerable success in top-tier League of Legends tournaments such as the LCS.

LCS Predictions: All You Need To Know

When the LCS Spring 2022 tournament kicks off in February, it’ll bring with it a tense Group Stage and a Mid-Season Showdown. At the end of the Showdown, the winning teams will qualify for a Mid-Season Invitational event, an exclusive, special edition mini-tournament. Throughout the Group Stage, each of the 10 teams will play 18 matches, transitioning through a double round-robin structure.

For the winners of the tournament, a massive $100,000 prize is handed out. Then, for second place, there’s a $50,000 prize; third place, a $30,000 prize, and for fourth place, a $20,000 prize. However, should a team fall outside of those positions, it will effectively walk away with nothing.

At this point, it seems like the most logical option when it comes to League of Legends betting is to back one of the following favourites:

• Evil Geniuses
• Cloud9
• Team Liquid
• 100 Thieves

Out of those teams, Evil Geniuses has displayed the most overwhelming skills in the season so far. In the Lock-In Group Stage, Evil Geniuses walked away with a perfect 4-0 record, beating Team Liquid, Immortals, Counter Logic Gaming, and Dignitas.

While it’s a fair choice to back an underdog, the low-performing teams in this tournament have so far shown very little promise. For example, the lowest-ranked team right now is Immortals, which picked up a meager 0-4 record through the Group Stage of the Lock-In. While the odds for this team will present a high return on investment, the odds will absolutely be against them.

Ultimately, if you already have a team that you’re set on backing, that’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with supporting the team of your choice. However, if you want to make money, sometimes that can mean actively betting against the organisation that you’re a fan of.
