LCS Summer Split Matchup Preview: Dignitas vs Golden Guardians
Check out the latest LCS Predictions for the League Championship Series.
The League Championship Series (LCS) is the top professional League of Legends (Lol) in the United States and Canada. Riot Games host this league of ten franchise teams. Esports bettors are lucky, thanks to the annual seasons being divided into two splits, giving them a chance to have a constant opportunity to bet on their favorite LCS team.
The LCS is important because when the season ends, only the winner, runner-up and third-place team of the summer split get the opportunity to participate in the annual League of Legends World Championship. The LCS has been underway, and we have been able to watch some really good matchups. We are specifically going to look ahead to the Summer Split matchup between Dignitas and Golden Guardians.
Dignitas Preview
Dignitas entered the Summer split with a 14W – 10L in the LCS and has been a middle-of-the-pack team in the LCS so far, going 3-3, losing to former LCS titleholders like Team Liquid, Cloud9, and 100 Thieves. The team is led by elite bot laner Toan “Neo” Tran, who boasts an impressive 1.40 KDA in thirty games for Dignitas.
Recently acquired mid-laner David “Yusui” Bloomquist has also been a bright spot for this team, having a 1.20 KDA in 23 games. Over the last six months, Dignitas has had a 54% win rate and has played some pretty good Lol games throughout the years, but it is clear they are trying to enter that elite space in Lol esports. They will be looking to move to 4-3 after their matchup with Golden Guardians.
Golden Guardians Preview
Golden Guardians have not played particularly well in the LCS. They entered the summer split with an underwhelming 5W-19L record and have been 2-4 over their last six matchups. This team looks like they have been working to find their synergy. They have the talent to be outstanding. Trevor “Stixxay” Hayes and Nicholas “Ablazeolive” Abbot have been impressive with a 1.70 KDA in 29 games.
Newly established Top laner Colin “Solo” Earnest has also been good with a 1.60 KDA but has only played nine games with the Guardians. Unfortunately, outside of the nice-looking KDA, the Guardians have been lackluster in the last six months; they have only had an 18% win rate.
Who wins and why
For those into lol betting, we believe that Dignitas will win this matchup. History has been on Golden Guardians’ side against Dignitas, winning three of their last five matchups. However, in 2021 Dignitas is 2-0 against the Guardians and is likely to be 3-0.
Dignitas has been very competitive in the LCS and has a real chance to finish in the top 3 of the LCS. Unfortunately, for the Guardians, they have not been that productive and have not been playing well at all in this year’s LCS. This team seems like they have not played with each other long enough, and that is why the edge goes to a more fluid team like Dignitas.
