Assassin’s Creed Games with Ezio: Which Assassin’s Creed Games feature Ezio Auditore?
It was way back in 2007 that Assassin’s Creed first graced our home consoles. It was a revolutionary title, fusing historical exploration with intense stealth gameplay and close combat. Within a relatively short period of time, Assasin’s Creed had established itself as an iconic and massively popular franchise. As the years wore on, more and more characters were introduced to the franchise, but few have had the impact that the legendary Ezio Auditore da Firenze has. This article will identify all the Assassin’s Creed games that this Ezio has appeared in.
Even if you haven’t played Assassin’s Creed, you’ll likely recognise Ezio Auditore. For many years, he was the driving force of the Assassin’s Creed series, and has received more coverage than any other Assassin to come out of a Ubisoft title. He’s a gaming icon and many of the franchise’s fans consider him to be the best of the best where the Assassin Brotherhood is concerned.
So, what Assassin’s Creed games have Ezio in?
- Assassin’s Creed II (2009)
- Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (2010)
- Assassin’s Creed Revelations (2011)
Introducing Ezio
Ezio Auditore da Firenze first made an appearance in Assassin’s Creed II in 2009. He was the second Assassin to arise in the franchise, closely following Altair, from the first Assassin’s Creed title. In Assassin’s Creed II, players explored 13th century Italy, from Florence and Venice to Tuscany and Monteriggioni. As we followed Ezio Auditore through his journey, we witnessed his life unfold, from the very first seconds of his birth to the final moments of his life.
In the history of video games, we’ve almost never seen coverage of this magnitude. There are very few characters that we’ve essentially grown up with, and Ezio Auditore is one of them. His story was one of heartbreak, betrayal, revenge, and redemption, and he would grow to become one of the most legendary characters in the history of gaming. For many, Assassin’s Creed II was the height of the franchise, offering unparalleled opportunities for exploration, an intense, immersive story, revolutionary graphics, and an extremely likable character. It was easily one of the best games in the Assassin’s Creed timeline.
Ezio’s Adventure
Following the second title, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood (2010) was released, expanding massively on Ezio’s adventure. This time, we joined Ezio in Rome, the capital of Italy, as he sought to track down and eliminate Templar influences throughout the region. It was another boon for Ubisoft, with fans once again flocking back in their millions to pick up the next stage in Ezio’s life. However, that wasn’t the end for the ‘Italian Stallion’.
As the last stage of his trilogy, Assassin’s Creed Revelations (2011) served as something of a send-off for Ezio. It was the last Assassin’s Creed game to feature Ezio Auditore, and at this point, players were controlling him in his later years. However, the title was just as adventurous, offering fantastic insights into the lore of the Assassin’s Creed universe and tying up several loose ends in the story.
There can be no doubting the fact that Ezio Auditore was a character that we’ll remember for many years to come.
