Metaverse Game Studios launches Angelic on ImmutableX

Metaverse Game Studios has collaborated with ImmutableX to launch its upcoming AAA Web3 game, Angelic.

In March 2022, Metaverse Game Studios successfully raised $10 million in seed funding to fuel the next development stage for Angelic to deliver a seamless gaming experience to all users. The funding round was co-led by Animoca Brands, Pantera Capital and Everyrealm.

Metaverse Game Studios director of operations Anastasia Volgemut said working with ImmutableX would provide all players with the benefits of gas-free minting and secure solutions.

“By leveraging ImmutableX, our users can tap into the benefits of fast, secure, and gas-free minting and an uninterrupted, quality gaming experience,” Volgemut said.

Immutable executive Andrew Sorokovsky said he was glad to see Metaverse Digital Studios embrace digital ownership and player-led gaming models. According to Sorokovsky, ImmutableX’s tools and solutions would ensure Angelic delivers the fairest, “most inclusive and innovative Web3 experience” to all players.

With the game built using Unreal Engine 5, Metaverse Game Studios develops Angelic with engaging gameplay to ensure traditional gamers can enjoy it as much as Web3-native players.

Metaverse Game Studios and ImmutableX ensure that every Angelic community member will receive rewards based on their contributions to the game’s world.

Angelic is not the only game project that puts heavy focus into its gameplay rather than just participating. Several companies like Zilliqa, Tyranno Studios and Polkastarter Gaming said that the Web3 gaming space started to focus more on compelling gameplay mechanics than “easy earning.”

Tyranno Studios chief games officer Michael Rubinelli said the new era of Web3 gaming started in early 2022 and that it would put more emphasis on user experience.

Angelic is a dark science fiction-themed strategy role-playing game with a unique turn-based combat mechanic. It takes place in a collaborative universe enhanced by blockchain elements.

The game is defined as “collaborate-to-earn” instead of the “click-to-earn” approach that recent Web3 games have adopted. Angelic offers a combination of an expansive story-driven campaign and a vast free-to-play multiplayer metaverse. Players can gather in the metaverse and help grow the ecosystem, which can shape the game’s future. This mechanic allows players to form guilds to establish control over space sectors, collect resources, craft weapons and many more.

Angelic’s main objective is to deliver the best gaming experience possible for both Web3-native and traditional gamers. The game will be hosted off-chain but can still connect to different chains through a custom-built backend, starting with ImmutableX. Being a “collaborate-to-earn” game, Angelic will also allow players to own in-game assets like items such as NFTs that will be secure on the Ethereum blockchain.

In the game, players can use their in-game NFTs in the PvP mode and begin their journey into Angelic’s expansive and immersive universe.

Metaverse Public Studios has reportedly scheduled an alpha test for select community members and partners in January 2023. The company has also scheduled Angelic for a public release in February 2023.
